A member of Montgomery County's Republican Committee has been highly critical of former President Trump
A now-former local Republican leader alleges he was swatted after endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.
Matthew McCaffery, who represented Upper Merion Township on Montgomery County's GOP Committee, was ousted from his position, according to WHYY, after violating party bylaws by speaking out against former President Donald Trump.
“I’m just a local guy that is sticking up for what he believes in and that’s what I’m going to continue to do,” McCaffery told WHYY.
Getting booted capped a wild few days for McCaffery. After he appeared on CNN last week to discuss his opposition to Trump, he alleges someone reported a hoax emergency at his home to police, and that law enforcement is investigating the incident as a "politically motivated crime."
"I want to be clear: these types of attacks are exactly why I’m speaking out against the MAGA wing of my party and why I’m proudly voting for Kamala Harris," McCaffery said on X.
McCaffery has been very critical of Trump, writing an op-ed for The Inquirer and appearing on billboards supporting Harris, according to Philly Voice.
