Summer may be slowing down, but there are plenty of hot tickets left in town this weekend. Here are our top picks. 


Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, Friday, August 23 

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will hit Citizens Bank park on Friday after an appearance on Wednesday. This week’s performances replaces two shows originally scheduled for last August. Tickets are still available as of press time.  


Taylor's Version, Friday, August 23 

Calling all Swifties for Taylor's Version, a 21+ dance party at Brooklyn Bowl this Friday. The DJ-based event will play every Taylor era - no skips. Come out, dance and trade bracelets with fellow fans. Reminder - as of July 8th Brooklyn Bowl is a cashless venue. You can load cash onto a debit card, which you can use at the venue or anywhere that accepts Mastercard.


Twilight in the Gardens, Friday, August 23 

Experience the magic after dark at Twilight in the Gardens at Philadelphia’s magic Gardens.

Bring Your Own Booze, Blanket, and Snacks and spend an evening picnicking in this glittering mosaicked space. Guests can tap their toes to a lively performance by akadotdotdot, a band that creates long form groove music ranging from dance bops to contemplative soundscapes. Create squeegee art with Jazmyn Jamil and enjoy self-guided tours of the rarely-seen mosaicked basement, and can view the latest exhibition, “After the Flowers Pass: Works by Amir Khadar.“

Olympia After Hours: 90’s Night, Friday, August 23

Break out the acid-wash jeans, butterfly clips and flannel…the 90's are back aboard the Olympia for the Independence Seaport Museum’s last themed night of the season on Friday. Take inspiration from your favorite pop star or actor and climb aboard for a night that includes themed cocktails and mocktails, the greatest hits from the decade and special 90's trivia. 


The Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl, Saturday, August 24

More than three dozen stores around the city will be part of the second annual Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl this Saturday. The yearly celebration of Philadelphia’s wildly vibrant and wonderful bookstore scene takes place at the end of every August.

Participating bookstores around town will host unique and special events. There’s no specific trail to follow. Check out what shops are participating and what they are doing via an Interactive Bookstore Crawl Map.       


Loneliest Place on Earth Fest 2, Saturday, August 24 

The Loneliest Place on Earth 2, featuring Hot Mulligan, will perform at Franklin Music Hall on Saturday. Also appearing: Aaron West & The Roaring Twenties, Sweet Pill, One Step Closer, Future Teens, Oolong, Skullpresser and Magazine Beach.


The War and Treaty, Friday, August 23  

Founded in 2014, The War and Treaty are an American husband and wife duo consisting of singer-songwriters Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter who will take the stage at WXPN’s Music Hall on Saturday. The venue is also open before the show for dinner & drinks in The Lounge, a full-service restaurant & bar on the upstairs level which opens at 6pm.


Last weekend at The Oval, Friday August 23 through Sunday, August 25

It’s the final weekend of programming at The Oval on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Relax in the beer garden. Dine at a selection of food trucks and the Libertee Grounds mobile kitchen. Play a round of all-ages mini golf. On Friday, there will be a Hiphop Masterclass from 6-7:30p.m., followed by a screening of The Little Mermaid. There’s also a Yappy Hour scheduled for Friday and Quizzo on Sunday.

Ukrainian Folk Festival, Sunday, August 25 

Celebrating the 33rd Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, this year’s Ukrainian folk Festival will take place on Sunday, August 25 from noon to 8p.m. The artists - dance troupes, musicians, singers and ensembles who have performed in previous years - have created a dynamic and integrated collaborative program this year. Enjoy a BBQ picnic, authentic Ukrainian foods and baked goods, and arts and crafts Market and vendors’ grove. Tickets will be sold at the gate only.
