Sen. John Fetterman proved to be a good sport, even if he isn't good at betting on them.
After losing a bet to Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker on Sunday, when the Eagles defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-13, Fetterman had to make good on a promise to declare Wawa better than Sheetz, and wear an Eagles hat while voting in the U.S. Senate.
He ate his crow and did so as humbly as possible:
You won this round, @PhillyMayor. 🙄 https://t.co/kRmLhZzP4w pic.twitter.com/NXzYjQ7drg
The funny thing is, Fetterman pre-empted his payoff when he announced the bet last week, saying in his X post that even if he lost and had to say Wawa was better, it should be noted that it was a "filthy lie."
I bet @PhillyMayor — when the Steelers win, she wears a Steelers hat all day and proclaims at City Hall:
Sheetz > Wawa (obv)
If Philly wins (unlikely 🙄), I vote in an Eagles hat and proclaim in the U.S. Senate:
Wawa > Sheetz (a filthy lie) pic.twitter.com/5dUyuW1m3R
For her part, Parker accepted his video as payment, and told the Senator that Eagles green looks good on him.
It is all in good fun. Thank you @SenFettermanPA for being such a good sport!

Parker could get her Super Bowl wish. With both teams near the top of their standings, there's a better chance than usual that the two could meet again in the championship game on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
If that happens, Fetterman and Parker have to up the ante just a bit on their second friendly wager.
And no - Cheesesteaks and Primanti Bros. sandwiches are not a good bet any more. It's almost 2025. Get creative.
