The 2pm contest at Fat Lady Brewery is part of a larger pizza appreciation event with live music and entertainment.
Major League Eating's top-ranked competitors are set to battle at the 2024 Benny's Invitational Pizza Eating Championship — “Mayhem in Manayunk” — on Saturday, November 16th.
This highly-anticipated event, regarded as the spiritual successor to Philadelphia’s legendary Wing Bowl, will showcase the world’s top eating talents, including third-ranked Geoffrey Esper from Oxford, Ma., fourth-ranked James Webb from Sydney, Australia, and sixth-ranked Nick Wehry from Tampa, FL. Local legend Dave “U.S. Male” Goldstein, famous for his 2013 Wing Bowl XXI victory with 266 wings, has announced his return from retirement to defend Philadelphia’s pride against competitors from across the nation and beyond.
The contest will begin at 2 p.m. at Fat Lady Brewery, located at 4323 Main St, Philadelphia, PA, as part of a broader pizza appreciation event featuring live music and entertainment from noon to 4 p.m. Competitors will race to devour Benny’s colossal 28-inch ‘Manayunk Mega Pies,’ consuming as many slices as they can in pursuit of the title "Pizza-Eating Champion of the World" and a share of $2,800 in prizes.
