The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a severe geomagnetic storm watch for Thursday night into early Friday morning, following a coronal mass ejection from the sun several days ago. By 8 p.m. on Thursday, local Facebook pages and groups were awash in hues of teal and pink, as community members posted their images of the aurora.
