Three people have been charged in connection with fights that broke out at the Veterans Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
Videos shared on social media showed the chaos the erupted at the event, with several fights. BreakingAC is not sharing the videos since they show several minors.
Those charged seem to have been in a group of adults seen wrestling together, with a woman who landed what appeared to be several closed-fist blows to a man's head. A screenshot was captured above.
Colleen Biddle, 41, and Justin Pacheco, 38, both of Philadelphia, along with Robert Schafer, 38, of Maple Shade, were charged with fourth-degree simple assault at a youth sporting event and disorderly conduct.
Egg Harbor Township Sgt. Ben Kollman led the police investigation.
He told Philly Daily that the first focus was on those who did not belong in the actual game rink.
"If you didn't belong there, those are the first ones we looked at first," Kollman said.
They bypassed those who came on to get their children out of harm's way.
"We looked at the parents that came in and basically started fighting," he said. "Almost like they were looking for it."
The three are likely the only ones who will face criminal charges, Kollman said. They were issued summonses.
There were no injuries reported that Kollman was aware.
The American Ball Hockey Alliance said in a letter posted online that it also is investigating.
"It is important to note that this incident was instigated by out-of-town teams, and, as such, does not reflect the values or behavior of the host facility, Egg Harbor Township Street Hockey, their teams or their families," the ABHA Board wrote.
It was previously announced that an assistant coach from the Maple Shade, Burlington County, team was suspended.
Both the Maple Shade Cadets and Philadelphia Frenzy A teams also were suspended from the tournament.
