A New Jersey woman has been arrested for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to murder her ex-boyfriend—a Philadelphia police officer—and his teenage daughter.
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office announced that Jaclyn Diiorio, 26, faces charges including two counts of first-degree attempted murder and one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder.
Authorities were alerted to the alleged plot on April 3. Diiorio is accused of offering approximately $12,000 to an individual she believed to be a hitman, aiming to have both her 53-year-old ex-boyfriend and his 19-year-old daughter killed. The supposed hitman was, in fact, a confidential informant whom Diiorio had met through the Tinder dating app.
On April 4, Diiorio met with the informant in Gloucester Township, N.J., and provided $500 as an initial payment. Following this exchange, she was taken into custody by the Gloucester Township Police Department's Special Response Team. During her arrest, officers discovered a bottle of suspected alprazolam pills in her possession.
Alprazolam is usually used to treat anxiety and panic attacks.
Diiorio and the officer had reportedly ended their relationship in early March. Prior to the end of their relationship, she had filed a restraining order against him during the summer of 2024, which was later dropped.
Additionally, the officer reported a previous incident in September 2022 involving a Molotov cocktail attack on his residence.
The Philadelphia Police Department has been cooperating with the investigation. Diiorio is currently being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility, awaiting a detention hearing.
