Look: Matt Strahm has a Declaration of Independence glove

  • Phillies

Matt Strahm has leaned all the way into the comparisons of him to Nicolas Cage in "National Treasure."

The All-Star reliever revealed to Matt Gelb of The Athletic that he has a glove with the Declaration of Independence written on it, a nod to the 2004 film where Cage's character steals the document:

Because the Declaration of Independence part is white, Strahm probably isn't able to use this during a game. White gloves aren't allowed because the batter needs to be able to differentiate the ball from the pitcher's glove.

Still, it's a funny novelty item if nothing else that Victus was able to produce now that the torpedo bat hype has died down.
