  • Things To Do

Roxborough is set to host its biggest spring celebration yet as two of its most beloved annual events — the 23rd Annual Roxborough Spring Fest and the 23rd Annual Rockin’ the Ridge Car Show — unite for the first time on Saturday, May 10, transforming Ridge Avenue into a bustling corridor of music, food, classic cars, and family fun.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Ridge Avenue will be lined with over 80 artists and makers, 12+ food trucks, local eateries, breweries, live music, kids’ activities, and now, 70 vintage and custom vehicles. The dual event is presented by the Roxborough Development Corporation (RDC) and the Roxborough Ridge Runners Car Club.

“By uniting Spring Fest and Rockin’ the Ridge, we’re creating a vibrant, dynamic experience that truly reflects the heart of Roxborough,” said Jax Cusack, RDC Executive Director.

A Double Dose of Tradition and Entertainment

The Spring Fest, a cornerstone of the neighborhood’s seasonal calendar, will stretch from Green Lane to Hermitage Street. In addition to dozens of craft and food vendors, the event will feature three entertainment zones, with two stages hosting performances throughout the day.

Local talent from West Philadelphia Orchestra, The Providers, and Mitchell Street Philbillies will headline the musical lineup, while students from Jeanette’s School of Dance, Pretzel Theater, and Action Karate will showcase community pride.

Meanwhile, the Rockin’ the Ridge Car Show will park between Hermitage and Fountain Street near Gorgas Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., displaying vintage and custom cars vying for 114 awards. A live DJ, raffles, and classic car culture will provide nostalgic charm.

Chris Lounsbery, President of the Ridge Runners Car Club, called the merger a “highlight of the year,” adding that the community energy “just keeps growing every time.”

More Than Just Cars and Crafts

New features for 2025 include the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, a dedicated Art on the Ridge consignment tent, and a student art show themed “Art in Motion.”

The festival also includes a Kid’s Zone at Roxborough Pocket Park, where families can enjoy balloon art, mini golf, and a visit from Flyleaf the Book Fairy.

Unique interactive art installations, like Serene & Green’s customizable flower crowns and live pottery demos from Edna Rambo, invite attendees to engage with local artists directly.

Food, Drink, and Local Flavor

Food lovers will find everything from dumplings to BBQ and Mediterranean cuisine served by mobile vendors like Momo of Tibet, Deke’s BBQ, and Byz’ Empire.

Participating restaurants along Ridge Avenue — including Roma Pizza, Roxy Hall, and Santucci’s — will also offer festival fare.
