A third arrest has been made surrounding a Mother’s Day shooting that claimed the life of Quidere Johnson, a Philadelphia rapper known as LGP QUA. The U.S. Marshals announced the arrest of Amir Earley, 21, on Thursday, Aug. 7.
Earley was reportedly taken into custody in the 3000 block of Reach Street, after trying to flee out the back door of the home. He is the third arrested in what police are calling a robbery gone bad, after two 19-year-old men
Johnson, who was age 30 at the time and a resident of the 1900 block of West Bristol Street, was murdered, police said, on May 11 near the intersection of M and Luzerne streets in the Juniata section of Philadelphia. Immediately following the incident, police announced the arrest and murder charges of Joshua Thomas-Coleman, 19, of the 4100 block of Greeby Street in Tacony, and Abdul Boyd, 19, of the 1600 block of Granite Street in Frankford.
Surveillance video of the incident showed grainy footage of two men, each on opposite sides of the street, as they both approach a dark-colored sedan. A bright flash of a gunshot is visible in the released footage, and the car later drives off.
Though police announced they were searching for the wanted Earley, a resident of the 4600 block of Mulberry Street in Frankford, since that same time, the 21-year-old evaded authorities until Aug. 7. Both the Philadelphia Police Department’s and the U.S. Marshals’ detectives were involved in the arrest.
LGP QUA was known for his socially conscious lyrics and provocative music.
