The dog days of summer are back in Philadelphia! The Manayunk Development Corporation invites dog lovers and their furry four-legged companions to the highly anticipated Dog Day of Summer on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In time for August as National Dog Month, Main Street Manayunk will transform into a tail-wagging haven filled with pet vendors, pup-centric giveaways, adoptable rescues, custom portraits, splash zones and more. New for 2025, look for a Yards Paws and Pints Passport at nearly a dozen participating bars and restaurants.
Whether you're looking to adopt a new best friend, spoil your pup, or enjoy an afternoon stroll through the vibrant community, Dog Day of Summer offers something for every breed and human alike. Dog Day of Summer is family and fido friendly and open to the community with no charge to attend. Food, drink and shopping are pay-as-you-go.
Look for Dog Day of Summer activities to be spread throughout locations in downtown Manayunk, including Canal View Park, Richards Apex, Manayunk’s Art Allies and in front of select businesses on Main Street. New for 2025, raise a pint to your pups with the Yards Pints and Paws Passport. Head to participating bars and restaurants for Yards specials, plus collect stamps and be entered to win Yards dog-themed prizes. Paws for Cause is back and expanded for 2025. Adopt a new friend with
Bennett's Buddies with The NEW 96.5 FM and the PSPCA sponsored by
BluePearl Pet Hospital. Bennett and The NEW 96.5 FM will be broadcasting live, with adoptable pets from
Pennsylvania SPCA.
Other events will include Yappy Hour at The Brass Tap, Adoptable Dog Meet and Greet at City of Paws Pet Care, Dog Day Raffle and Giveaways, Dan's Toonz sketching caricatures of pet parents and their furry friends, cool-down stations and chill zones with doggie pools, pup cups and more, plus vendors, pet wellness information, dog-themed hot sauces, sidewalk sales, dog beer samples, open play yard party, and much more.
