The Philadelphia Eagles are having themselves a year, both on and off the field.

Sportico just released its sixth edition of its annual NFL Franchise Valuations Ranking, where it ranks each team based on its total valuation. Sportico defines its 2025 valuation as "the sum of the enterprise value of an NFL franchise combined with the value of team-related businesses and real estate holdings."

This year, the Eagles saw a 25% value increase from 2024's number, bringing their 2025 valuation to $8.43 billion. That number puts them at No. 6 in the NFL, two spots up from 2024's No. 8 ranking.

The five franchises ranked ahead of the Eagles in 2025 are the Dallas Cowboys at $12.8 billion, Los Angeles Rams at $10.43 billion, New York Giants at $10.25 billion, New England Patriots at $8.76 billion and the San Francisco 49ers at $8.6 billion.

There was no movement inside the top five from 2024 to 2025. In fact, the only teams that moved inside the top 10 were the Eagles and the New York Jets, who swapped places; the Eagles moved to No. 6, and the Jets moved to No. 8.

Although the Eagles and Jets moved around them, the Miami Dolphins stayed put at No. 7. The Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders remained at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

The NFC East is still – and has been since 2020 – the only division to have all four teams ranked inside the top 10. However, the Chicago Bears are nipping at Washington's heels.

This was the Eagles' largest increase in value since Sportico began reporting on NFL franchise valuations in 2020. The team remained in the No. 9 spot for the first four years of the rankings as it gradually increased in value from $3.35 billion in 2020 to $5.95 billion in 2023.

In 2024, the team's value increased to $6.75 billion, and it moved into the No. 8 spot. 2024 was also the first year where the Eagles registered a higher value than the Commanders, who fell from No. 7 in 2023 to No. 10 in 2024.

2025 was a massive jump for the Birds. The increase of $1.68 billion put them squarely in the No. 6 ranking. Now the Eagles are biting at the heels of the top 5 franchises, with the fifth-ranked 49ers sitting just $0.17 billion ahead of them.

To put things into perspective, Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie purchased the team in 1994 for $185 million. With adjustment for inflation, that number would be over $400 million today.

Now Lurie is a two-time Super Bowl champion, sitting at the head of a top-6 NFL franchise worth $8.43 billion.

That's some investment.
