The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will conduct resurfacing operations next week on sections of Veree Road, Rising Sun Avenue, and Kelly Drive in Philadelphia, part of an ongoing effort to repair and repave more than 200 miles of state highways across the five-county region.
Motorists should prepare for lane closures and possible delays during both daytime and overnight hours:
PennDOT advises drivers to allow extra travel time, as backups and delays are likely. Work schedules are weather dependent.
The resurfacing work involves milling, repairing inlets and manholes, and repaving with asphalt to improve safety and provide smoother rides for motorists.
Real-time traffic conditions are available at 511PA.com, through the 511PA smartphone app, by calling 5-1-1, or via PennDOT’s regional alerts on X (formerly Twitter).
