Even in what's been a trying season, A.J. Brown tops 1,000 yards receiving

It was the worst-kept secret in the NFL that A.J. Brown was frustrated with his role in the Eagles' offense for much of the 2025 season. But with a strong finish to the regular season, Brown still managed to go over 1,000 receiving yards Sunday.

Brown had five catches for 68 yards in Sunday's 13-12 win over the Buffalo Bills Sunday at Highmark Stadium. With intermittent rain at Orchard Park Sunday, it wasn't a particularly good day to throw the ball, but Brown still made some key plays in a first half that saw the Eagles outscore the Bills 13-0. The Eagles offense sleepwalked through the second half, but still managed to hold onto the lead they built in the first half to move to 11-5.

This is the fourth time in as many years with the Eagles that Brown has gone over 1,000 yards receiving. Overall, it's the sixth time in seven NFL campaigns that Brown has reached at least 1,000 receiving yards.

It's entirely possible that Brown's regular season is over, as we'll see whether and to what extent Eagles starters play in Week 18 against the Washington Commanders. If Brown has played in his final contest of the regular season, he'll finish with 78 catches for 1,003 yards over 15 games.

There was a point this season where it seemed like the Eagles and Brown might be headed for an offseason split, with the star wideout not being properly utilized in the offense. Major questions remain about how far this offense can go in the playoffs, and it still might be an upset if Kevin Patullo returns as offensive coordinator in 2026. But at least for the time being, the noise surrounding Brown has quieted.
