Saquon Barkley didn't get a chance to break Eric Dickerson's single-season NFL rushing record in Week 18, because he had bigger fish to fry.
Consider those swimmers, well cooked.
Barkley had 57 yards rushing on 25 carries in Super Bowl LIX - kept mostly in check by the Kansas City Chiefs, but he was able to get enough yards to break the all-time rushing record set by Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis in 1998.
He keeps making history‼️

That, and a championship victory by the Eagles, a 40-22 thrashing of the two-time defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs, cap off one of the greatest seasons a running back has ever had in NFL history.
He topped Davis' 2,476 yards on a two-yard run on the final play of the first half with the Eagles holding a 24-0 lead.
Barkley finished with 2,504 yards this season, in 16 regular season games and four playoff games.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni decided to not play Barkley in the final game of the regular season, preventing Barkley from having a shot at Dickerson's regular season record. Barkley finished 101 yards short of the record. He did become the ninth player all-time to rush for 2,000 yards in one season.
Barkley is the only other player besides Davis to rush for 2,000 yards in a season and win a Super Bowl in the same season.
