ROLLING COVERAGE: The Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Championship Parade

Fans gather for the Eagles parade (credit: Cheryl Dutton)

It couldn't be a more perfect storm - a Super Bowl championship parade on Valentine's Day in the City of Brotherly Love.ย

If everyone loved each other the way this city loves the Eagles, well, the world would be a better place.ย

We'll continue to update this post throughout the day, so check back frequently and scroll through for all the latest sights and sounds from the parade.

What's it like out there? Well... insane... and would you want it any other way?

Here are some great moments from the speeches:

First, A.J. Brown with a mic drop:

Jordan Mailata with a wholesome moment, singing some Queen with the crowd:

C.J. Gardner-Johnson led the crowd with chant:

ย

Don't know what that means? Well, it stems from a quote of his about how to beat a team, and, well, he showed it off during the parade:

Brandon Graham wrapped it all up with a great speech that kind of hinted like he might be looking to give it a go for a 16th season in 2025:

It was a great way to ended a parade that was lit from the start.

I mean, it kicked off with Gardner-Johnson trolling Taylor Swift fans:

Tremendous.

And Quinyon Mitchell made his mark as a rookie cornerback in the NFL. He's got a chance to be the next Sauce Gardner. Or, maybe he's just sauced:

Maybe not as sauced as Dallas Goedert, though:

If there was any doubt that A.J. Brown is arguably the best receiver this city has ever seen, here's another reason to no longer question it:

That takes some inner excellence.

Speaking of excellence, the should-have-been NFL MVP Saquon Barkley has some other skills that fans got to see for the first time today:

GM Howie Roseman was hit in the head by a flying beer can. He took it in stride:

Wait, what did Zack Baun sign?

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my fellow St. Joe's Prep alumnus Jeremiah Trotter Jr. for being just a great guy:

Jordan Davis may never be a flag bearer in the Olympics, but I'd argue that this is probably the next best option for him:

Philly fans are a unique breed.ย I spent part of my overnight out in the freezing cold with some of them. Others, who waited til this morning to show up for the parade, came up with some excuses... and good ones:

I mean, getting married at the parade is wild. Just don't tell your parole officer you left the house to do it:

In retrospect, it was serendipity to have Kendrick Lamar perform at halftime of the Eagles Super Bowl win because although the message of his song certainly has a different meaning, it is a bit apropos as far as a song title for the Philadelphia fans:

And then there's this guy, who chose not to call out of work, and, in fact, hopped on a Zoom work call while waiting for the parade to reach him.ย

Priceless!

Of course, it wouldn't be a Philadelphia celebration with lights and poles:

Hell, even the Philadelphia police got caught up in the euphoria of the parade:

But not everybody understands Philly, we know that. How unfortunate. ย

One such person who doesn't get it is sometimes NFL news breaker Dov Kleiman:

Dude, get over it. People have been making fun of opposition players for decades. Now, they're supposed to stop when they reach the pinnacle of the sport? Come on, man. Also, it's Philly, no one is going to apologize for this.

Dov probably would whine about this if he saw it, too:

But wait, there's more:

Some fans did have an "oops" moment to start the parade though, although, it's understandable how you can confuse the "exciting whites:"

Speaking of exciting... Landon Dickerson was a little too excited for this quick interview on Fox 29:

He later downed that beer in his hands to cheering fans screaming, "Go Birds!" Hey, it was 12 o'clock somewhere...ย

Hey, while you're reading, did you know On Pattison now has a merch store and has a couple Eagles related items available?

Look, Dave Spadaro was able to find the actual Cooper DeJean, who called this the greatest day of his life:

Meanwhile, Jake Elliott kicking a beer can for a field goal is an iconic moment from this parade:

And it wouldn't be an Eagles Super Bowl parade without an appearance from Jason Kelce:

In honor of Kelce, this guy and his pals had a well-rehearsed speech for this parade:

Further down the parade route, as fans await the Birds' buses, why not have a little game of catch across Broad Street?

You might remember the Chris Long fur coat from the parade in 2018. Well, Josh Sweat decided to borrow it for this parade.

But the winner of the day, might be this fan, who much like the St. Joe's Hawk, never stops flapping, no matter what the hurdle:

OK... one more:

Only in Philadelphia, folks. Only in Philadelphia.
