For the first time in its 150-year history, the Philadelphia Zoo is offering guests a chance to experience its 42-acre campus privately through the “Key to the Zoo” Premium Insider Tour. These exclusive tours will run during the Zoo’s January closure, providing an unparalleled behind-the-scenes look at animal exhibits, conservation efforts, and the Zoo’s storied history.
Guests can choose between two immersive options: - Conservation in Action Tour ($500 per person)
This morning tour includes visits to critically endangered animals, behind-the-scenes experiences, and lunch at the historic Solitude. Guests will also receive a unique piece of animal-created artwork as a keepsake. - History at America’s First Zoo Tour ($150 per person)
This afternoon tour focuses on the Zoo’s historical significance and innovative strategies to save wildlife. Highlights include an Animal Ambassador meet-and-greet and a tour of historic structures on the grounds.
Tour dates are January 11, 12, 18, and 26, with limited availability. Reservations must be made in advance at philadelphiazoo.org.
"These tours are like nothing we’ve offered before," says Dani Hogan, Director of Mission Integration. "It’s a unique opportunity to learn about our animals and conservation work directly from our experts in a semi-private setting." Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore the Zoo like never before.
