Philadelphia police officers had shots fired at them Friday morning by a man who then barricaded himself inside a home in Fox Chase.

A 59-year-old man was eventually taken into custody after a standoff that lasted about two hours.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police were responding to reports of a person with a gun on the 7500 block of Veree Rd. in the Fox Chase section of Northeast Philadelphia just before 7 AM Friday.

When they arrived, a man started firing at them from inside a home. While no one was injured, the police also did not return fire.

A SWAT unit was called in after the initial interaction with the individual. Following a period of negotiation the man was taken into custody without incident.
