THINGS TO DO

Philadelphia welcomes Do Portugal Circus for the first time

Get ready for thrilling aerial acts, the Globe of Death, and family-friendly fun this February.

  • Things To Do

Philadelphia, get ready for a jaw-dropping, laugh-until-your-cheeks-hurt, edge-of-your-seat experience—Do Portugal Circus is coming to town! From January 31st to February 16th, Franklin Mall (1455 Franklin Mills Circle) will transform into a world of wonder, excitement, and pure magic.

A thrilling lineup of acts

This isn’t your average night out—this is a circus extravaganza! From heart-stopping stunts to side-splitting comedy, the Do Portugal Circus lineup has something for everyone:

The Globe of Death: Watch fearless motorcyclists defy gravity as they zoom inside a metal sphere at lightning speed. (Spoiler alert: you might forget to breathe!)

Aerial silks & Spanish web: Graceful performers soar high above, twisting and twirling in an elegant dance through the air.

Magic & quick change: Mind-blowing illusions and blink-and-you’ll-miss-it costume changes will leave you wondering, how did they do that?!

Bounce juggling, acrobats & hand balancing: Feats of strength and skill that will have you clapping so hard your hands will sting!

Clowns: Hilarious antics and antics galore—perfect for kids and the young at heart.

Oh, and we’re just getting started. The show is packed with surprises, so you never know what’s coming next.

Why you don’t want to miss this

This is not your average circus. Do Portugal Circus has been dazzling audiences for over 100 years, with roots dating back to 1911. Every act is performed by incredibly talented humans—no animals involved—making this a show that’s as ethical as it is entertaining.

"Do Portugal Circus is thrilled to bring our talented artists to the Greater Philadelphia Region," said Do Portugal Representative Susan Vance. "We are especially excited to pop-up for the very first time right in Philadelphia. This is the birthplace of the American circus born here in 1793. Philadelphia continues to this day to have a rich history and strong connection to circus arts. It is a major hub for major traveling shows, plus the region has two of the most well-regarded circus schools in the country."

Perfect for any occasion

Whether you’re planning a fun family outing, a unique date night, or a group hang with your besties, Do Portugal Circus delivers the ultimate entertainment experience. Bring the kids for a night of wide-eyed wonder, or bring your partner for a romantic evening of awe and amazement.

Oh, and don’t forget the snacks—classic circus treats like popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, and nachos will be available to fuel your fun. (Pro tip: Grab a snow cone and snap a selfie for the ‘gram.)

Affordable fun for all

Tickets start at just $20, with VIP seats available for $50 if you’re ready to upgrade your night. Families, take note: there’s a special early bird package for just $49.99 (two adults and two kids) if you book before January 31st.
