For the 62nd year, the Philadelphia Folk Festival will be returning to Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Township on August 14 through August 17.
The festival will include 40 musicians from the Greater Philadelphia area. 23 musicians will perform on the Main Stage and Camp State, while the other 17 will perform on side stages.
The musicians selected pay homage to the traditional heritage of folk music while embracing new and diverse talent. Those who attend can expect to hear the sound of internationally touring artists based in Philadelphia.
On August 1, the Philadelphia Folk Festival will host a preview at the Bryn Mawr Twilight Concert series, featuring performances by Philadelphia Folk Festival performers Larry Ahearn, Lili Anel, Cloudbelly, and Max Davey.
The festival has a multi-generational audience, therefore it aims to provide a family friendly atmosphere which includes camping, food trucks, vendors, and activities for those of all ages. For the younger crowds, educational workshops and Dulcimer Grove will provide additional entertainment to enhance the weekend's fun.
Discounted prices on day passes are no longer available; however, if you are a member of the Philadelphia Folksong Society, you will receive a 10% discount on your purchase.
A three-day pass without camping for 18+ is $250, for 12-17 is $120.50, for 5-11 is $5, and 0-4 are free of charge. Day passes for the weekend vary in price by day. Check out the Philadelphia Folk Festival website for more information and to purchase tickets.
Campers will receive early access to pitch their tents and set up their sites for the weekend. The gates for them open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 14. Campers will also be given an exclusive experience to kick off the festival on Thursday night with the Campers-only live music show.
