Are you one of those people who likes to leave for vacation later at night or wake up before the roosters do and get on the road to your destination?
If so, then you might want to avoid the Blue Route next week.
I-476 will undergo a $63.7 million project to improve 17 miles of the interstate, the associated on- and off-ramps, and bridges from I-76 in West Conshohocken Borough to I-95 in Ridley Township, PennDOT announced on Wednesday.
Work on these areas will take place during the evening and overnight hours next week.
Motorists are being advised of lane closures during the weeknight from Monday, August 4th, to Tuesday, August 12th, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and are being advised to allow extra time for travel due to potential backups and delays.
Under this project, PennDOT’s contractor, H&K Group, INC., will repair 49 structures, improve 21 stormwater management basins, repair existing sound walls, replace select inlets, and install new pavement markings, delineators, rumble strips, signage, and guiderails.
The project aims to extend the life, improve the quality, and enhance the safety of rides on the interstate, while also enhancing the current roadside elements of the interstate.
The scheduled project is tentative and susceptible to weather delays. Motorists can find updates on the project, including traffic delays and traffic cameras, on www.511PA.com.
