The American Red Cross and 93.3 WMMR are teaming up for the 20th annual “I Bleed for Preston & Steve” blood drive on Thursday in Philadelphia and Friday in Oaks. More than a thousand donors are expected to give blood over the two-day drive (with Friday being the largest and best for photo ops).

Thursday’s drive will run 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Live! Casino & Hotel Event Center, 900 Packard Ave. in Philadelphia. WMMR DJ Jacky Bam Bam will make an appearance in the morning (about 8-10 a.m.), and Preston Elliot and Steve Morisson will donate blood and take photos with fans in the late morning/early afternoon (about 11 a.m.-1 p.m.).

Friday’s drive will run from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, Hall C, 100 Station Ave. in Oaks. WMMR will broadcast live from the venue all 12 hours of the blood drive, starting with the Preston & Steve Morning Show (6-10 a.m.), followed by Pierre Robert (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Brent Porche (3-7 p.m.) Close to 800 donors are expected to give blood.

Presenting donors will receive a limited-edition Preston & Steve T-shirt. Some donors have collected all 19 shirts so far. Long-time donors of the drive can be identified for interviews. Appointments for the afternoon of Friday’s drive are still available, and walk-ins will be accepted.

Growing from a small storefront drive in the former Franklin Mills Mall in 2005 to one of the largest blood drives in the country, “I Bleed for Preston & Steve” has collected 21,069 donations since its inception.
