The man found carrying a handgun and other weapons in the area of the West Chester "No Kings" protest over the weekend is now facing multiple additional charges after police searched his home and found at least seven pipe bombs.
During the protest on Saturday, authorities arrested a Chester County resident, later identified as Kevin Krebs, 31, of Malvern, Pennsylvania, for illegally carrying a handgun without a license.
Following the incident, the Montgomery County Bomb Squad and Federal Bureau of Investigation searched Krebs’ home on Conestoga Road Monday and found one pipe bomb, police said. After continuing their search, Police found six more pipe bombs Tuesday morning, Action News reported.
Police were able to contain and disable the pipe bombs in a secure location. The pipe bombs were made from coke bottles and pipes, police said.
Krebs is now back in custody, facing charges with 13 counts of Weapons of Mass Destruction, 13 counts of Possession of an Instrument of Crime, one count of Causing a Catastrophe and one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
During Saturday’s protest, a West Chester police officer who was on foot patrol along the 100 block of North High Street when a man concealing a handgun under a long yellow raincoat was reported. According to the affidavit, the officer spotted Krebs walking towards the “No Kings” rally and approached him, CBS News reported.
Krebs was walking on the sidewalk on the east side of the street. The officer stopped Krebs at the intersection of High and Gay streets and asked him if he had any weapons on him, according to court documents.
Krebs was hesitant to answer and the officer noticed the empty holster on his left hip. When the officer asked if Krebs had a gun, he allegedly replied by admitting there was a handgun hidden underneath another layer of clothing and in his waistband.

Police said Krebs possessed a fully loaded Sig Sauer P320 handgun. Krebs was also allegedly in possession of three loaded Sig Sauer handgun magazines, six loaded assault rifle magazines, an M9 bayonet knife, oleoresin capsicum spray, a pocket knife, a ski mask and gloves, NBC10 reported.
Sources told NBC10, Krebs’ SUV, found two blocks away from the rally, contained an assault-style weapon and a helmet.
According to police records, Krebs did not have a concealed carry permit and he could not provide one when the officer asked.
Krebs was originally released after obtaining a bondsman to put up his $250,000 cash bail. He is now back in custody following the discovery of seven pipe bombs at his home.
Krebs' motive remains unknown, but the police investigation is ongoing. No injuries were reported.
