A shooting and stabbing outside Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown, Bucks County created a tense scene on Thursday.
According to officials, Around 5 p.m. a man in his 30s was both shot and stabbed at the SEPTA bus stop in the Mall parking lot outside J.C. Penny.
Middletown Township Police described the incident as “targeted and isolated."
Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla told reporters that the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the elbow and a stab wound to the arm before sprinting into the mall for refuge.
A local shop employee told multiple news outlets that the victim "ran holding his arm and bleeding all over," prompting businesses to quickly go into lockdown.
Authorities confirmed the victim was known to the shooter and affirm there's no ongoing threat.
Emergency responders swiftly cordoned off the area. Nearby attractions, including Sesame Place, also enacted lockdown protocols as officers swept the building and secured the perimeter.
The mall was evacuated and remains closed today, as investigators focus on locating the suspect.
The suspect is described as possibly having dreadlocks and wearing a dark top and green pants, though police said their gender is uncertain.
The wounded man was hospitalized in stable yet critical condition at St. Mary Medical Center, according to LevittownNow and local officials.
