Every year Wawa Welcome America hosts festivities from Juneteenth to July 4th to celebrate both independence days in the United States. To conclude the two-week celebration, the organization hosts the Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert and Fireworks.
The event is the nation's largest 4th of July celebration and one of the nation’s largest free festivals.
With Philadelphia being the birthplace of the nation, there is no better place to celebrate its 249th birthday than on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The main festivities begin at 7 p.m. when the concert performers, including LL COOL J, DJ Z-Trip, and Jazmine Sullivan, take the stage. The concert will be broadcast on NBC10 in English for those who choose to enjoy it from home. Post-concert, at around 9:30 p.m., the city's largest fireworks display will take place.
If you are looking for an earlier start to your Independence Day celebration, gates to the event will be open at 4 p.m.. Entry to the event is at Logan Circle at 20th Street. Once inside, event goers can enjoy local food trucks, Rita’s Italian Ice, interactive activities, and more.
For those aged 21 or older, this year's event got a little more fun with the addition of the Bee Garden Experience sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka. The cocktail lounge will feature Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Tito’s Lemonade Spritz, in addition to Chaddsford Wine available to purchase. Before and during the concert, the lounge will offer activities and giveaways from Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
