A Philadelphia woman is accused of violating a restraining order at a Warrington Township home and then smuggling marijuana into Bucks County jail.
Lauren Lee Minnick aka Lauren Lee Tashjian, 45, of the 3300 block of Glenbrook Place, was charged Monday with felony possession of a controlled substance by an inmate and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana, according to court documents.
Warrington Police responded to a home on the 800 block of Valley Road on March 13 for a report of a subject on scene that was not permitted to be there, due to a Protection From Abuse order, police said via Crimewatch and in an affidavit.
Police found Minnick at the location and confirmed she was violating the order, according to the complaint. She was arrested and a search found a clear, cut straw with a burnt tip and a clear baggie containing blue wax paper with a red smudged stamp, police said.
A white powdery substance was found inside Minnick’s hoodie pocket, police allege. Both items were sent for lab testing to determine if it is narcotics or not.
Prior to entering the Warrington Township Police cell area, Minnick read and acknowledged understanding that having contraband in jail would result in a felony charge, police said.
She was found to have five blue wax papers and loose plastic baggies inside of her cell, police said.
According to police, Minnick was jailed on 10% of $400,000 cash bail and remains at Bucks County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for March 31.
