On Thursday morning, a multi-vehicle accident involving a vehicle hauler occurred on Interstate 95 North near Chester in Delaware County, resulting in injuries to several individuals, including two pregnant women.
The incident took place around 6:25 a.m. near mile marker 4.3, close to the Commodore Barry Bridge.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the vehicle hauler was traveling at a speed unsuitable for the traffic conditions and failed to stop in time, leading to a collision with multiple vehicles.
The hauler, which was carrying three passenger vehicles, overturned during the crash, blocking the northbound lanes of I-95 and causing significant traffic delays.
Emergency responders transported two pregnant women to a local hospital for evaluation. Authorities reported that all individuals involved sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
As a result of the accident, only one lane of I-95 North remained open for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the incident. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes during the cleanup and investigation process. The highway was completely reopen at about 11 a.m.
The Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
