Pennsylvania Indivisible, a statewide progressive Democratic group, is calling on John Fetterman, the Democratic U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, to resign.

The group was created in 2017 as a "part of a national movement to resist the GOP's agenda, elect local champions, and fight for progressive policies." They have regularly held protests outside of his Philadelphia office.

Pennsylvania Indivisible is the first Democratic group to call for Fetterman's removal from office. Over 14,000 members and eight leaders of Indivisible groups across the state signed the letter, which was sent to his office last week.

"You have been a model to others emphasizing mental health challenges in admitting them and trying to overcome them," the letter said according to the Inquire. "However we also expect sufficient representation of out interests in the Senate, especially when the stakes for our democracy are so high."

The letter came as a response to the New York Magazine story that was published on May 2nd, which reported that the staff of the senator's office questioned Fetterman's mental health, well-being, and his capacity to properly represent the state of Pennsylvania.

Sen. Dave McCormick of Pennsylvania, Fetterman's Republican colleague, stated that he believes these are "vicious, personal attacks" on Fetterman.

At the time of this writing, Pennsylvania Indivisible and Fetterman's office have both failed to respond to request from Philly Daily of further comments about the letter.
