Kyle Eugene Miller, 27, of the 2600 block of Muhfeld Street of Philadelphia, faces a felony charge stemming from a traffic stop in Huntingdon Valley, according to police.
A Lower Moreland Police Office conducted a traffic stop of a red Ford Explorer at the intersection of Byberry Road and Brae Bourn Drive for a brake light violation, according to police.
The driver, Miller, told the police officer that he did not possess a valid driver’s license, did not have the vehicle insured, and that he recently purchased the vehicle two weeks ago.
Miller produced a title for the vehicle but was not able to provide any other documentation for the vehicle.
A check through the NCIC revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Philadelphia, according to police
Backup police officers arrived on scene to question Miller, who told police officers that the car belonged to his friend, and he purchased the car to teach his friend how drive, according to police. Miller told police that the vehicle was registered in his friend’s name. Police officers were unable to contact Miller’s friend to confirm the information, according to police.
Police then placed Miller into custody. He faces a felony charge of receiving stolen property.
