On May 22, Realtor.com ranked the “Las Vegas of the East Coast” as the third most affordable beach town in the country for homebuyers in 2025.

Atlantic City is a coastal city in southern New Jersey and home to under 40,000 residents. Known for its bustling nightlife, the city offers plenty of opportunities to gamble at the numerous casinos and party at the sleepless nightclubs, while also offering the chance to kick back and relax on the beaches.

The New York Post posted Realtor.com’s ranking of affordable beach towns on TikTok. Users took their opinions right to the comment section.

“You should get paid to live in Atlantic City lol,”  commented @luckyray02.

“Just a reminder that there is a reason these are the cheapest,” commented @johnnybravoandfriends.

A sales agent at Boardwalk Realty, which is a full-service real estate office located at The Ritz on the World Famous Boardwalk in Atlantic City, supports the idea of homebuyers investing in property in the beach town.

“It is just one of the last areas that has not been tapped on the shore,” said Heather McLaughlin when asked why Atlantic City is so affordable. “All of the other areas have already taken off.”

McLaughlin addressed the concerns of Atlantic City's current state and is hopeful for the future of the affordable area.

“A long time ago, things kind of went into disrepair,” said McLaughlin. “So, now people are really looking into building up the neighborhoods.”

Not only are the residents and investors supporting the revitalization of Atlantic City, but so is the New Jersey government.

The Atlantic City Revitalization Grant program “is a pilot program awarding grants between $1M and $10M for capital projects that address and improve the communities and neighborhoods within Atlantic City,” as stated on NJ EDA's website.

The overall goal of the program is to revitalize the city from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, which took place five years ago.

“There are a lot of great things about the city, so we are excited that we are number three,” said McLaughlin with pride. “It is a great place and we are on the up and up!”
