With nearly all precincts reporting, District Attorney Larry Krasner has coasted to victory in the 2025 race for the District Attorney's office, taking roughly three-quarters of the vote.
In a night where Democrats triumphed across the region, from the far-left Zohran Mamdani in New York to the center-left Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey, Krasner's brand of progressivism received the seal of approval from the 300,000-plus Philadelphians who turned out to vote on Tuesday.
Krasner barely campaigned and indeed did not host an election night event, but is expected to address the media this morning about his electoral victory. Judge Patrick Dugan conceded early in the evening, having attracted the endorsements of Republican and several normally Democratic-aligned trade unions, as well as that of the centrist Forward Party. It was not enough to bring him a win, however, as the city's Democratic voters — making up a large majority — were unswayed by his message.
