UPDATE: Police confirmed this morning that DNA evidence proves the body found to be that of Kada Scott.
A body was found this evening at the closed Ada H.H. Lewis Middle School in Germantown which Deputy Police Commissioner John Stanford said Philadelphia police believe to be the body of Kada Scott.
Scott, 23, was reported missing two weeks ago. Police searched for her in the hopes she was still alive and earlier this week arrested the last person known to have been seen with her, 21-year-old Keon King. Scott, a Penn State grad from Mount Airy, was reported missing after she left for an overnight shift at the nursing home in Chestnut Hill where she worked.
This was not King’s first brush with the law. As 6ABC reported earlier this week, “King is accused of kidnapping another woman back in January. The incident was captured partly in a viral video. Investigators say it shows King peering through and knocking on windows while a person inside yells to call the police and for him to go away.”
Those and other serious charges against King were withdrawn by District Attorney Larry Krasner’s office in January.
