Pennsylvania State Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit out of Skippack is investigating a reported theft by deception involving a scammer posing as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles Autism Foundation who allegedly bilked a Montgomery County woman out of hundreds of dollars last month.
Police reported Friday afternoon the incident that occurred to a 53-year-old Worcester Township woman on Landis Road between Aug. 29 and Sept. 11, 2025.
On Sept. 11, at 5:14 p.m., state police dispatch was contacted by the victim regarding the deception by a Schuylkill Haven suspect, police said.
Police said the suspect impersonated working for the Autism Foundation, wherein the victim paid $750 for Eagles football tickets via Apple Pay.
The victim never received the tickets and the money was never refunded, police said.
Further investigation revealed that multiple victims have been scammed under the same motive in Montgomery, Philadelphia, Chester and Lancaster counties, police said.
The investigation is open and ongoing.
