Just a few weeks removed from a wildly entertaining Eagles playoff victory in the snow, Jeffrey Lurie spoke to reporters Monday about the possibility of building a dome over Lincoln Financial Field (or possibly some future Eagles stadium).
"You're torn," said Lurie, speaking at Super Bowl LIX 'Opening Night' (a/k/a media night) in New Orleans.
"I love outdoor football. I love it. I love the cold games, I like the hot games, I like the snow games.
"On the other hand, Philadelphia deserves to host a Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, lots of great events. It's an incredible sports city. Does it deserve that? Yes. So, gotta balance all those things."

Many Eagles fans were quick to suggest a retractable roof as a compromise.
The only right answer is yes.. all we can do is pray it’s retractable so we can still get prime Philly weather football
Retractable roof! Open it up for the season, close it for championship games.
Lincoln Financial Field first opened in August of 2003. The city of Philadelphia owns the stadium, while the Eagles lease it from the city and have full control over stadium operations.
(Editor's Note: There's a lot going on down at the stadium complex these days. The Phillies and Comcast Spectacor, which owns the Flyers, announced plans to develop a multi-use, residential and retail sector in and around the stadiums, akin to what they have in Atlanta at "The Battery." Comcast Spectacor and Harris-Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, which owns the 76ers, announced a partnership on a new arena to be built in the complex sometime in the next six years. But where are the Eagles in all this? They've been pretty quiet. "They remain very engaged," someone from Comcast Spectacor told me. But why haven't they committed yet to the redevelopment plans that the other three teams have? Is it leverage for a new stadium of their own? Lurie wants that. He wants every major sporting event possible in Philly. Hell, the WWE loved their time in Philly, but if they brought Wrestlemania back, they wouldn't want to risk the possibility of cold weather in early April again. But if it were indoors... Hmm. I'm not a gambler, but if I were, I'd lay a few pennies down on Lurie and the Eagles being all in on the complex renovations if it included a new, domed, or retractable roof stadium.)
